Katy Dunne Dance Therapy

About my work

My work as a Dance Movement Psychotherapist and Community Dance Artists is hugely rewarding, it has taken me to many different settings and enabled me to work alongside many on their creative and therapeutic journeys.

I pride myself in creating a warm, welcoming and inclusive environment in which groups or individuals are supported and feel safe to better understand themselves, to connect and find joy, healing and growth through the power of dance and movement.

Dance Movement Psychotherapy provides a creative means for clients to explore and address difficulties, symptoms and psychological problems. It is a relational process that doesn’t rely on talking about problems as the only way of finding solutions. I currently practice DMP with children and adults who come to me with a wide range of needs.

I am based in Norfolk, and am registered with The Association of Dance Movement Psychotherapy and adhere to their code of conduct. I regularly part take in professional development and have further qualifications in Authentic movement and SMART moves, The Body Mind Approach, practices that I bring to my work to create a person centered and trauma informed approach.

As well as dance movement psychotherapy I also offer workshops, groups and classes in the inclusive and grass roots practice of community dance with an enthuses on creativity, wellbeing and connection.
